MNA Staff Development Committee Opens October Meeting to Any/All Staff Educators Across the State

The Staff Development Committee of the Massachusetts Nurses Association would like to invite you and your colleagues to join our committee on Friday, October 13, 2000, at 1:30 p.m. at MNA Headquarters in Canton, Massachusetts, for an informational meeting.  The members of the Staff Development Committee are a group of nurses and educators representing diverse health care settings who are committed to the process of life-long learning and professional development.

Our committee provides professional networking, peer support, and personal and professional development.  Through monthly forum discussions we address timely issues that affect nurses, patients, and the delivery of health care.  The forum topic for October will be “Medication Errors:  Focus for Prevention,” a discussion--tailored for staff educators--of the critical elements in effective system-wide approaches to error reduction.  Our meetings also afford members opportunities to become more involved in other activities of the Massachusetts Nurses Association.

We value the opportunity to share expertise in staff development and educational issues which impact nursing practice.  A member of the MNA Staff Development Committee will contact you to address questions you may have.

Please consider joining us in October.

Sincerely,

Peggie Griffin Bretz, MSN, RN, CNAA
Co-Chair, peggie.bretz@med.gov.va

Carolyn Russett, BSN, RN,C, OCN
Co-Chair, crussett@capecodhealth.org
