Mobilizing the Membership Dr. Bernard will focus on how to move union members into action to respond to the many challenges in the workplace in the face of aggressive employers and union-busting consultants. She will look at how to address contract and labor law violations, as well as collective bargaining situations by involving the strength of the union - its members

Technology Change in the Health Care Setting This workshop will address the rapid changes that are occurring in the health care setting. It will review the vast range of these changes and the appropriate response to them as health care professionals and as union members - including proper training and the impact on patient care; privacy issues; collective bargaining and mid-term negotiations;as well as pay, benefits and health and safety."

Bread and Roses: 1912 Strike of the Textile Workers The 1912 strike of textile workers in Lawrence, Massachusetts, was remarkable for the spirited solidarity among immigrant workers and women. But the massive demonstration escalated quickly and led to a congressional investigation. Jim Beauchesne, Chairman of the Bread and Roses Heritage Committee, examines the importanceof this watershed event in American labor history.
