MNA offers exciting new travel program
By Carol Mallia RN, MSN
Avid Traveler and Nurse

Beginning in 2001, MNA will be offering two exciting new travel programs to Europe. MNA has linked with Durgan Travel, one of the largest and well-respected tour companies in New England to offer a nine-day, seven- night trip to Italy in June and Greece in November 2001.

Linking MNA with a reputable travel company will be the key to the success of this endeavor. Durgan Travel Service has been providing travel services for over 30 years. It  offers low-to-moderate priced packages to Europe, staying in 4-star hotels, taking advantage of discounts offered to large groups and off-peak season rates. Durgan Travel has a large selection of well-established tour packages to Europe with a primary focus on Italy. The trips are all-inclusive; air, transfers, meals and motorcoach tours with a local guide. The MNA tours for 2001 are priced at $1,399 for the Italy trip and $1,199 for the Greek trip.

Group travel tours are attractive for many types of travelers, singles, married, retirees alike. In July of 2000 Gloria Negri, a Boston Globe travel reporter, traveled to Italy with a Durgan Travel Tour and commented, “For me, a longtime traveler, this trip would be different and I was happy to let someone else worry about travel logistics, for a change.” In her travel summary article she had nothing but positive comments to say about her tour of Italy and the experience she had with Durgan Travel. She commented about the buffet-style meals, which were included in the tour package, they were ”delicious and few cared about eating out.”

The daily tours from the hotel will journey to all the key sites in each of the locations. For more information and details of the trips contact Carol Mallia, RN, MSN at 800-882-2056, x755 or email cmallia@mnarn.org and request a flyer for the programs.

These trips are available to MNA members and their friends and families.
