MNA Debates its Future...

ANA Affiliation or Disaffiliation

A new, very important bylaw has been proposed by certain members of the MNA which you, as a dues-paying member of the MNA, will have to carefully review and vote upon at the Business Meeting held at the MNA's annual convention on Thursday, November 9, 2000 at the World Trade Center in Downtown Boston. The proposed bylaw calls for the MNA to disaffiliate from the ANA federation.

Given the important nature of this issue, the MNA has created a Task Force and charged them with developing a communication plan for delivering information to the membership and providing opportunities for the membership to ask questions and respond to this issue.

As part of that communication plan, the Task Force has created this section of the web site (below) to provide general information. They will be conducting "Town Meetings" across the state that members can attend to ask questions, meet with other members supporting each side of the issue, and gather more detailed information. And, finally, the MNA has developed a communication system through which members can write, call or email the Task Force with questions they would like addressed or to offer their opinion on this issue. The email communiqués will be posted on this web site for all web site visitors to review. Questions and comments can also be phoned-in to the Affiliation/Disaffiliation Task Force Bylaws Hot Line at 781.821.4625 or toll-free in MA at 800.882.2056 or mailed in to the MNA's communications dept at 340 Turnpike Street, Canton, MA 02021.
