Work-related asthma is a reportable health condition in Massachusetts

Massachusetts law requires that asthma caused or aggravated by exposures or conditions at work be reported to the Massachusetts Department of Health’s Occupational Safety and Health Program. A specifi c form is required for reporting and it can be obtained by calling the MNA’s Health and Safety Program at 781.821.4625.

The purpose of reporting is to identify chemical or other agents in the workplace that can cause or aggravate asthma so that exposures can be eliminated or controlled through engineering interventions. Your employer is required by law to provide a safe and healthful work environment that is free from recognized hazards.
