Northern Berkshire Community Members Gather Tonight

To Sign onto Letter Calling on Health and Human Services Secretary to Provide Broad Public Access to State Consultant’s Report Concerning Future Services at the Site of North Adams Regional Hospital

When:  Tuesday, August 26, 6 p.m.

Where:  American Legion Hall , 91 American Legion Drive, North Adams

Members of the community who have continued to meet on a weekly basis every Tuesday since the closure of North Adams Regional Hospital, will gather again tonight to sign off on a letter to Secretary of Health and Human Services John Polanowicz urging him to make the highly anticipated health care needs study, that has been commissioned by the state, widely available to residents of Northern Berkshire County in advance of public community forums that are being planned to gather feedback from the community regarding the study’s findings.

Members of the community are deeply concerned about the findings of the study being conducted by Stroudwater Associates, the firm hired by the state, as community members, health advocates and former employees have been calling for the restoration of a full-service hospital at the site of NARH to meet the health care needs of the community.
