Description: This program will Increase awareness of the prediabetes epidemic in the US, predicted future impact, disease and economic burden and Improve understanding of normal glucose metabolism and role risk factors play in development of insulin resistance, prediabetes, Type 2 Diabetes and dementia. It will also assist to develop understanding of key mechanisms and hallmarks of Alzheimer’s Disease and review growing evidence that Alzheimer’s Disease is a metabolic disease, a form of “Brain Diabetes” with elements of both insulin resistance and deficiency. They will learn the significance of the Diabetes Prevention Program Research and Outcomes studies and how the results are being used to prevent Type 2 Diabetes in those at high risk and develop the knowledge of the tools available to screen high risk patients
