Due to the rapid increase in gas prices and the very low mileage reimbursement rate ($0.40) for Unit 7 Members, the MNA requested that the Commonwealth immediately request an increase in mileage reimbursement to the Internal Revenue Rate ($0.505). Unfortunately the Commonwealth refused to increase the mileage rate at this time. However the Commonwealth response did state that this is a proper subject for contract negotiations, and the MNA will make a demand for this change during negotiations and we hope that the Commonwealth responses appropriately by providing this increase.
