FYI. CMS (Medicare) as of today (Aug 21 2009) still does not have a chief administrator (unfortunate given the health care debate playing out and the role that person should play re health reform, H1N1, protection of seniors and the disabled etc).
Unfortunately –perhaps because of the unfilled DC top level slot, CMS Region 1 (Boston) also has had a vacancy in its top position for quite a while . The previous Region 1 administrator Charlotte Yeh, MD (formerly Newton Wellesley ED Chief shortly after CMS announced its non payment for medical errors policy, accepted the position of Chief Medical Office of AARP and commutes to D.C. from her home in Boston. That has left the Boston region also without top level direction thought there is an acting administrator. I am posting this info since every once in a while an issue has arisen where MNA needs to speak to that office. Thought I’d update you.
