Attached are two studies just published in the NEJM that indicate that one dose of the H1N1 vaccine may be sufficient to elicit sufficient antibody response. A third study is also attached that demonstrates that the seasonal flu vaccine does little or nothing to provide antibody protection against the H1N1 virus in any age group. This study also reported that people born after 1980 had little preexisting immunity to the H1N1 virus while persons born before 1950 had some preexisting cross-reactive antibodies.
