Taunton’s Morton Hospital ‘scapegoating’ union nurses
Taunton — Morton Hospital and Medical Center is “scapegoating” union nurses as an excuse to shut down a transitional-care unit and occupational-services program, according to the spokesman for the Massachusetts Nurses Association.
David Schildmeier, MNA director of public communications, said there is no justification for Morton Hospital’s announcement last week of plans to eliminate 43 positions within the next three months.
The MNA represents some 400 nurses and health care professionals employed by the privately owned, non-profit hospital.
