CMS 30-Minute Rule: An Update from ISMP Nurse Advise Sept. 2010

The Institute For Safe Medication Practices (ISMP) recently published an article detailing a poll that was done of nurses around the country, detailing issues and problems related to CMS’s “30-Minute Rule” regarding medication administration. This appears to be an issue causing problems around the country—including Massachusetts. The information in this article might be helpful in understanding the issue and ramifications  for nurses from CMS and The Joint Commission.
