A portion of McLean Hospital was evacuated yesterday when a man visiting a patient wielded a gun and refused to leave the hospital, police said last night. Belmont police Lieutenant Chris Donahue said Christopher Moise, 60, of Cambridge became verbally abusive when hospital staff confronted him and would not leave the room of the patient he was visiting. About 30 people in the hospital’s Proctor House section were evacuated. Donahue said police were able to persuade Moise to surrender without injuring anyone. Moise was charged with assault by means of a dangerous weapon and carrying a firearm under the influence of alcohol.
