MNA Nurses from Central Mass Offer Support to Occupy Worcester Protesters

Delegation of Nurses Deliver Supplies to Lake Park Site of Protest

Nurses, who every day care for the casualties of the economic crisis driven by Wall Street greed, are standing in solidarity with and offering their support to the new Occupy Worcester protest. On Tuesday night a delegation of nurses from hospitals and other facilities in central Mass, who are represented by the Massachusetts Nurses Association/National Nurses United paid a visit to the Occupy Worcester site and delivered  blankets, tarps, flashlights, firewood, coffee and donuts to protesters.

Speaking to the group, MNA Board member and St. Vincent Hospital staff nurse Marie Ritacco, said. "On behalf of the nurses of Massachusetts, I want to say thank you to the courageous activists of Occupy Worcester for standing up to corporate greed and for economic and social justice for all.   The Occupy Wall Street movement has inspired millions across the country, and it has provided a spark that we all hope will light a fire of progressive reform that will restore the promise of the American Dream. Like all of you, the nurses of America want Wall Street to be held accountable for the crimes they have committed against the working people of America."
