The Massachusetts Nurses Foundation – a non-profit organization whose mission is to support scholarship and research in nursing and healthcare – held its annual golf tournament on July 25, and was successful in raising over $20,000 for its scholarship programs. The tournament named in memory of Rosemary Smith, RN a longtime leader and advocate for the nursing community and a tenacious fundraiser and supporter for the Massachusetts Nurses Foundation.
More than 100 participants enjoyed the 18-hole Florida scramble style tournament at the LeBaron Hills Country Club in Lakeville, MA. The day’s events included a buffet style awards luncheon followed with raffle prizes and awards presented to the lowest scores for female, male and mixed foursomes.

Male winners: Joe Byrne, Jim Axon, Ed Hickey, Stan Glushik
Mixed winners: Andy Ferris, Mark Ferris, Kristen Ferris, James Lockwood
A 50/50 raffle drawing was won by Jim Axon in the amount of $590. Prizes include a foursome donated by LeBaron Hills Country Club, a pair of Red Sox tickets donated by Corry Associates, and a second pair of Red Sox tickets donated by Richard Curtin of Curtin, Murphy & O’Reilley, P.C., a 42” Plasma TV donated by Steve Bokser of Reliant Mortgage were among many of the raffle prizes.
