The MNA has just learned that Tenet Healthcare, one of the nation’s largest for-profit hospital chains, is buying Vanguard Health Care, another for-profit chain that owns two hospitals in Massachusetts: St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester and MetroWest Medical Center (including the Leonard Morse Hospital campus in Natick and the Framingham, Union Hospital campus in Framingham).
The MNA/NNU represents the nurses at St. Vincent Hospital and those who work at the MWMC Leonard Morse campus. Ironically, Vanguard had purchased these facilities from Tenet several years ago. We will keep you posted on further developments related to this change as we get more information.
