We have received word from Susan G. Komen that the Komen 3-Day will not return to Boston in 2014. Economic uncertainty over the past few years has been challenging for all nonprofits and 3-Day participation has decreased. It hopes to one day return to a larger number of cities but believes very strongly that this difficult decision allows them to return the greatest amount of dollars to the cause at this time.
This announcement does NOT impact the 2013 3-Day Series in any way. This year’s Komen 3-Day will happen in Boston July 26-28 as planned. Here is a reminder of volunteer opportunities for nurses at the event:
- Medical Crew: four-day commitment with $90 registration fee*. Crew qualify for 27 CE credits. The attached flyer provides more details.
- Medical Day Volunteer: day shift for Friday, 7/26 or Saturday, 7/27 or Sunday, 7/28.
