The biolab is a dangerous Level 4 lab with the capability of generating bioweapons (about the only thing you need a Level 4 lab for) which Boston University built on the campus of Boston Medical Center.
Fierce community opposition, backed by MNA’s opposition over the years has convinced both Massachusetts highest court, the SJC, and a federal court to take decisions which have blocked the lab from operating as a Level 4 lab. But the court’s power can only go so far. The incoming Boston City Council and incoming Mayor Walsh could stop the lab from operating, as have the towns of Brookline, Arlington and Cambridge. But BU is trying to rush this into operation before the new council (where we have the votes to stop the lab) and mayor take office.
