The MNA along with a number of other nursing and health care unions/associations have signed onto a letter to the CDC authored by National Nurses Unites (see below) opposing the CDC’s lowering of safety standards for Personal Protective Equipment for front line caregivers including lack for requirements for universal use of N95 masks, the untested and non-evidence based approval of reuse and decontamination strategies, and much more. It’s time for the CDC to stand with nurses in keeping them safe, and to stop employing policy changes that embolden the hospital industry to pursue polices that endanger nurses and the public.
