Region 2 Program: Supporting Families with Advanced Care Planning Needs

September 26 @ 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm

$25

Description: Registered nurses caring for patients in emergency departments and intensive care units strive to support families who are caring for loved ones with emergent and terminal diagnoses. When a patient has not signed advanced care planning documents before their acute illness, nurses feel powerless to guide families through the legal, ethical, and spiritual challenges that influence the delivery of end-of-life care. This program will examine these issues and provide an update on the E-portal for sharing advance-directive documents that will be available in 2024 for persons living in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
