MNA Mourns Loss of Mervyn Justin, RN at Carney Hospital, Union Brother, Colleague, and Friend

The MNA and its members at Carney Hospital in Dorchester lost a great friend and colleague on December 6 when Mervyn Justin, a long-time RN and MNA member at the hospital, was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident shortly after finishing his shift in the emergency department.

The sudden and shocking loss of this dedicated and hardworking nurse, friend, and father has left a hole in the fabric of so many lives — a hole that will never close completely but, instead, will slowly mend as Mervyn’s friends and family cope with their grief in the coming weeks and months
.
As that process begins, we encourage our MNA sisters and brothers to join us in supporting Mervyn’s family by making a contribution to a recently established GoFundMe page. Funds raised will be donated to Mervyn’s young children, who have not only lost their father but also their family’s sole income earner. At this time of year, a time that should be filled with joy and celebration, your donations will go a long way in keeping Mervyn’s memory alive while also caring for a grieving family in need.
